Role & Responsibilities
Target Start: Early May 2025
H2nanO is expanding our Engineering & Operations team to support the development and scale-up of our technologies. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and collaborate on projects as a team, enjoys building and fixing things, relishes the opportunity to solve problems, and is comfortable working outdoors in an industrial setting.
This is a full-time position based in our Western Canada office in Edmonton (Acheson), Alberta. This role is focused on the design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of our field equipment, technology pilot demonstrations, and production processes. This role is for a builder from bolts, to prototype, to field.
Work with various materials and tools to fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain research and pilot systems, materials production processes, and other equipment. Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and operations staff to implement equipment and process design modifications based on operator feedback and program results.
Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of equipment and processes, including basic diagnostics and problem-solving. Develop practical solutions to technical challenges and communicate plans to team.
Support project operations by gathering samples, assisting with data collection, and completing routine checks. Document technical observations and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.
Draft, maintain and follow safety protocols and procedures. Participate in safety reviews, safety committees and contribute to our safety-first work culture.
Support operational efficiency of H2nanO’s facilities. Maintain work areas by performing tasks such as cleaning, organizing, prepping tools and materials, and managing spare parts inventory.
Assist in identifying and sourcing equipment and components for systems based on project specifications and budgets. Develop and maintain relationships with equipment and part suppliers and other contractors.
Work outdoors in different weather conditions while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Be open to learning new skills and gaining hands-on experience in a real-world industrial setting.

Education & Experience:
College degree, technical program, or proven experience with building or equipment maintenance. Practical experience in professional and personal life is relevant.
Capability and confidence in completing hands-on work.
Experience with tools, mechanical work, construction, plumbing, or outdoor labor.
Experience or interest in water treatment, environmental or technology sectors, process and fluids handling equipment, and/or environmental project operations.
Ambitious disposition. Willingness to take on new challenges and learn from experienced team members.
